Our Story

Happy Haven is a 501(c) (3) non-profit organization founded in 2017. It serves one of the most vulnerable population of people special needs, intellectual and mental impairments disabilities and their families. We work hard towards creating a supportive housing system providing a safe Happy Haven to live and creating caring and productive individuals.

We value respect, acceptance, compassion, kindness, honesty, accountability, integrity, self-sufficiency and integrity. We strive to assist our clients in the areas of economic, emotional, and spiritual well-being in order to enhance self-esteem and a sense of personal pride. These people of all adult ages and backgrounds have a need for special services due to a special need, including but not limited to illness, cancer, accidents, birth defects, neurological conditions, premature birth, learning or physical disabilities, mental health issues, and attention deficit (hyperactivity) disorder, to name a few.

We have a strong belief that individual difference in people are a natural part of life, and that disabilities provide people with unique perspectives, insights, and abilities which contribute to the overall well-being of society. In 2013, we began reflecting on the difficulties of people with special needs and mental impairments populations in Orange County California. We envisioned creating a program to provide a safe haven, and hope for others. At that time we began to house women at a Huntington Beach home, as ECS/Equity Combat Specialists, LLC.

We also began preaching the word to get others involved who may want to help with the task. We kept looking for more and more places to house and more ways to help this population and found more places in Garden Grove, and then Anaheim. We helped get food bags for hungry people and organized outreach groups at local churches in South and North Orange County. We decided to expand into a multi-program non-profit organization and achieve 501(c) (3) status to provide additional help.

We work hard towards creating a supportive housing system creating a safe Happy Haven to live and creating caring and productive individuals that build and maintain a caring and harmonious relationship among all residents. Our services have expanded beyond housing to include collaborating with medical and healthcare providers, substance abuse intervention, outreach, and recuperative care.

Our independent Housing program helps under-served women, men, and families that may fall between the cracks of other programs. Our services fill a critical gap in the continuum of care with focus on assisting individuals into stable housing. We empower people with special needs and mental impairments with living skills needed to live independently and be self-sufficient, valuing respect, acceptance, compassion, kindness, honesty, accountability and integrity.

Our mission is to create a supportive housing system with a supportive environment to acquire the necessary living skills to live independently for the most vulnerable population of people with special needs, intellectual and mental impairments disabilities and their families. With services to support people with special needs make informed decisions; build partnership among peers, families and professionals, work hard to advance independence, productivity, and full citizenship of people with disabilities and create caring and productive individuals that build and maintain a caring and
harmonious relationship with others.
